0xmons is the pseudonymous developer-artist behind the experimental NFT project of the same name, identified in podcast appearances as Owen Shen. Launched from a contract deployed in December 2020, 0xmons placed 1-of-1 animated pixel monsters on Ethereum, each generated by a GAN trained on pixel art and paired with an AI-generated, human-curated name, epithet, and Lovecraftian lore, with the option to encode the entire NFT fully on-chain. Shen went on to become a prolific builder of NFT infrastructure, most notably as a co-creator of the sudoswap NFT AMM.
