Ivona Tau (b. Vilnius, Lithuania) is a new media artist and AI researcher who holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology and a master's degree in mathematics from Warsaw University. Drawing on roughly 15 years of photographic practice, she trains generative adversarial networks on her own analog and digital photography to create experimental photography and motion paintings concerned with memory, imagination and the changing city. Her work has been exhibited at Christie's and Sotheby's in New York, Bitforms Gallery, Venus Over Manhattan, Art Basel Miami Beach and Bright Moments Berlin, and is held in the collections of the ZKM-affiliated ZMK Museum of Contemporary Art (Germany) and Francisco Carolinum Linz (Austria).
