Liam Ellul is an Australian artist who came to neural networks through analytics work, including co-founding a small agricultural crop-analysis company. In 2018 he trained a GAN on roughly 10,000 photographs from his personal Facebook and Google Photos archives, minting animated portraits sampled from its latent space on SuperRare, and later painting directly over printouts of its outputs in the acrylic-on-cotton series 'Just Tell Me Who To Be'.
