Patrick Tresset (b. 1967, Noyon, France) is a French artist based in Brussels, best known for theatrical installations in which robotic agents named Paul obsessively draw human sitters from observation. Originally a painter, he studied at Goldsmiths College, London, earning a Master's and an MPhil in Arts and Technology, and his research on computational creativity is referenced in over 300 academic publications. His work has been shown in association with major institutions including the Centre Pompidou and Grand Palais (Paris), Tate Modern and the V&A (London), MMCA (Seoul), BOZAR (Brussels) and Ars Electronica, and is held in collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum.
